What is Heritage Turkey Starter Crumb?
Heritage Turkey Starter Crumb is a highly nutritious, finely crumbled feed formulated for newly hatched turkey poults. It provides essential energy, protein, vitamins and minerals need for strong early growth and immune development.
Do Heritage Turkey Starter Crumbs reduce the risk of Coccidiosis?
The starter crumbs are medicated to include an anti-coccidiostat, which interrupts the lifecycle of the parasite, keeping the population in the gut low enough for the birds immune system to build natural immunity without disease.
Is the feed suitable for heritage or traditional breeds?
Yes. Starter crumb is appropriate for all turkey breeds. Heritage breeds grow slower than commercial breeds, but their nutritional needs at hatch are the same.
When do I transition from starter crumb to grower feeds?
Switch to Turkey Grower Pellets at around 5-6 weeks of age or when the birds outgrow the starter nutrition. Transition over 3-4 days by mixing increasing amount of grower pellets with the crumbs.
Can this product be fed to ducks and geese?
Due to this product containing an anti-coccidiostat this cannot be fed to ducks and geese.
