Where are our Sugar Beet Pellets from?

We source our sugar beet pellets from British Sugar, you will recognise their brand Trident or Supaflow in stores or on farm. We receive bulk deliveries to our mill and pack the very same product or use it as a raw material in our feeds.

What are Sugar Beet Pulp Pellets?

Sugar beet pellets are a highly digestible feed made from dried, pelleted sugar beet pulp – the fibrous portion of the sugar beet after sugar extraction. They are commonly fed to horses, cattle, sheep, goats and other livestock as an energy rich forage replacer.

What are the benefits of feeding sugar beet pellets?

  • Highly digestible, slow release energy.
  • Good source of dietary fibre.
  • Help maintain weight and condition.
  • Suitable for animals with limited access to forage.
  • Can be used as a partial forage replacer.

Are sugar beet pellets high in sugar?

Despite the name, they are not high in sugar. After sugar extraction, the remaining pulp contains low to moderate sugar levels, usually lower then cereal based feeds.

Horses benefit from the fibre content of the SBPP which aids in digestion. However it is crucial to ensure the pellets are soaked before feeding to prevent esophageal blockages.
